Crazy About You (ClintxReader) One-Shot

You turned around and were face-to-face with a grinning face you knew all too well.

“Oh. Tony,” You said awkwardly. “So…does Pepper know you want me to be your Valentine?”

“Whoa let’s not just jump to conclusions, (Name),” Tony laughed. “I’m just here to tell you something. Since lover boy is too shy or whatever to go up to you himself, he had me build this tiny robot.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny bug-like creature with wings that was indeed a robot. But what were you supposed to do with that? When you saw Tony, you were at first disappointed. First of all, he had a girlfriend already and second of all, you had a crush on the famous archer—Clint. But if Tony wasn’t your Valentine, then who was?

He pushed a button that was on top of the bug and it came to life, flapping its tiny little wings. The thing soon hovered in his hands and then zipped down into the park.

“I suggest you chase that if you want to find out who your Valentine is,” Tony grinned.

It took you several minutes to get what he was saying and you made a run for it as soon as you did figure it out. Whoever your crush was seriously did want to make you work for it to find out who he was. You ran through the grass, your heels sinking into the moss from time-to-time. You grunted as you literally had to shove happy lovely dovey couples out of your way to chase that little thing. It was certainly fast. You ran over the bridge that was over the pond about twice in a row and you wondered if this thing was really reliable. You sighed and chased after it anyways. If this all turned out to be some sort of prank, you could just kick Tony’s ass later for it.

At some point in your running, you got fed up with it all and took off your heels. Your feet were killing you but it certainly did help you run faster. The bug was now almost in your hands. But the purpose was not to catch it, was it? Tony had just told you to chase it to find out who you your Valentine was. So that’s just what you kept on doing.

Your (h/l) (h/c) was started to get this messy look to it and you were even sweating a little due to all the running. Finally, the little thing did stop and in front of a huge willow tree that had decorations hanging off of it. You looked at the tiny crystals that hanged from the branches in awe, the robot fluttering above your shoulder before landing and shutting down. You were so busy admiring the lights, of course you gasped when an arrow went whizzing past your head and landed in the tree bark in front of you.

You cautiously stepped up to the arrow and saw that there was a note attached to it. You took the arrow off that looked more like Cupid’s arrow actually with the tip having a razor sharp red heart on it. The note was simply pink and written in it said, “Will you be mine? Because…” the rest was an arrow that indicated to turn the note around.

“Turn around?” You said confused, whipping around when you realized what it meant.

Standing there before you was none other than Hawkeye or Clint Barton. The man that you’ve been crushing on since you first started working for SHIELD.

“Will you be mine?” He said slowly, a small, shy grin on his lips. “Because I’m crazy about you?”

You took several steps towards him and within seconds your lips brushed against his in a sweet, tender kiss. He wrapped his arms around the small of your back and kissed you back passionately, your heart soaring even higher than ever before. When you pulled away, you were both radiant and smiling like two people who were in love.

“I knew it was you,” You blushed. “The folder thing kinda blew it.”

“I know,” He chuckled. “But if I had someone else do that, they might have read what was inside and then things wouldn’t have ended well for me.” He cleared his throat awkwardly and then looked at you serious. “So…what do you say? Will you be mine?”

“Yes,” You smiled, kissing him once more. “A thousand times yes.”
