“This should be good,” Clint said with a smug smirk.

“I bet mine’s will be scarier than yours,” you huffed.

“Oh? And why do you say that?”

“Because like Bruce’s, mine is actually true,” you scoffed.

“Really?” Bruce asked. “I thought I was the only one.”

“Trust me, Brucie, you’re not alone,” you shook your head.

♠♠♠Reader’s POV♠♠♠

My family and I had been traveling around Colombia looking for great sightseeing places. We had found quite a lot and after traveling all night to get to a small town, we finally settled at a finca that we were renting for two days. The finca was like a large cabin but more upscale. The TV was in the living room, but downstairs the two rooms had two bunkbeds. I was stuck upstairs with my grandparents. The stairs led directly to the bedroom which I found to be oddly chilling. My room was large, had a bathroom inside, and there were two double beds along with a balcony.

My aunts, uncles, and some of my older cousins, and my grandparents had fun drinking in the living room and listening to music from their time while my cousins and I, stayed outside by the hammocks. After a while, we got quite bored with ourselves so we started telling scary stories.

“So,” I began. “I know a friend who had a ghost haunt her.”

“No way,” my cousin Santiago shook his head.

“Stop lying,” Aitana said.

“No, it’s true,” I nodded with a laugh. “The ghosts name was Sarah. Her mother had died from cancer and although my friend isn’t sure how Sarah died, she’s sure it happened in her house.”

“That’s so creepy,” Aitana shivered.

“Right? Anyways, one night while my friend was sleeping, she said woke up with her eyes closed and felt like someone was sitting on her bed. When she did open her eyes, she saw a girl sitting on top of her with long, charcoal hair covering half of her face. They both stared at each other until Sarah started screaming, “It’s your fault! It’s your fault! You killed her! You killed her!” My friend didn’t know what to do so she just covered her head with her blanket. When she looked back up, Sarah was gone.”

Santiago shot me a look. “That’s ridiculous. How could she just—hey wait, what’s that over there?” he pointed.

Further down from where we were sitting, the finca broke off sort of into a cliff. Instead of meeting your doom if you fell, you would just keep rolling down hill into fields of crops. At night however, it was very creepy. I looked to where he had pointed and got up with him to investigate while Aitana and his little sister stayed by the house.

“You better not be messing with me,” I warned him.

“No, I’m serious!” he exclaimed. “I saw something!”

I rolled my eyes and kept on walking until I heard a strange rustling sound ahead. It couldn’t be the wind since there wasn’t any wind blowing. Santiago grabbed my arm and tried to drag me to the edge but I firmly planted my feet.

“No way! I’m not going!”

“Stop being such a baby,” he laughed. “It’s probably an animal. You know next door the guy who rented us this place has bunnies?”

“Santiago, look over here!” his sister, Sophia called.

We both turned around to see a white bunny just a few feet away from them. I glared at him.

“Still wanna go?” I asked sarcastically.

“....No, I’m good.”

He let go of my arm and we both walked back to them. Sophia and Aitana kept on trying to catch the white rabbit along with Santiago who just kept on failing. The white rabbit ran fast on the side of the cabin, all the way to the back of it to the main gate of the place. I stopped, out of breath and just glad that Aitana had managed to catch it. While Sophia petted the bunny, Santiago came over to me.

“So was that story true?” he asked me. “The one about your friend?”

“I think so. Unless she lied to me then I’ll have to personally confront her.”

While we both stared at the gate, suddenly we saw a black figure floated behind the gate. It was like a head bobbing up and down while someone walked except we saw no neck or shoulders. I was the first one to run, leaving the kids behind while Santiago yelled at the kids to run too. When we made it out of the house, we were both laughing nervously to shake it off.

“What’s wrong?” my aunt asked, stepping outside confused.

“W-We saw something, over there!” I pointed.

“Yeah it looked like….a man or something,” Santiago said.

She raised an eyebrow at us. “Have you guys been drinking now?”

“No!” we both said.

“I’m kidding,” she laughed. “You guys are probably just telling too many scary stories.”

“Santiago, you idiot!” Sophia shouted, marching up to him to hit him in the gut. “You left us behind! And you scared the bunny away!”

I don’t know what she was more mad about: the bunny escaping or the fact that we both ditched them when we thought there was trouble.

“Don’t be mean to the princess,” my aunt chided us.

She soon went back to the house and we just went back to sitting by the hammock. Sophia wanted to look for the rabbit again but it looked like it was long gone. We changed the topic and Sophia started singing while she rocked on the hammock. During her singing I caught her say something in Spanish. It was something like, “And we’re running with the devils into the night~”

“Did she just…?” Santiago asked me.

“That’s it. I’m done. I’m going inside.”

At night, my room proved to be even creepier. After we turned the lights off, I felt like I shouldn’t sleep with my face facing the door. So I kept my back to it and buried myself underneath the blankets. Sometime during the night I awoke to the sound of trees loudly rustling and hearing a strange creaking sound. When I peaked my head above the blankets, I was now facing the door but what’s more, there was a dog standing there. It stared back at me with glowing white eyes and its sharp teeth poking out from its muzzle. I blinked rapidly and wondered what to do. I wanted to scream for my grandparents but felt like it was a bad idea. But somehow, I fell asleep. I don’t remember when it happened but all I knew was that one minute I was looking at a dog, and the next I wasn’t.

The next morning when I woke up, I saw paw prints leading up to my bed.

After we traveled to a place called El Eje Cafetero, where they showed you how they make coffee, we were walking through the park of the place and we were looking at all the statues they had up. One of them was La Llorona, and then the next one we saw was El Duende.

“Oh,” my aunt Luiz said in a chilling voice. “This is basically like a demon. He usually creeps up on farm people who live high up in the mountains. At night he braids the hair of horses manes and also the hair of beautiful girls with long hair. After he does that, he usually kidnaps the girls and rides away with them on the horse. Creepy right?”

“Uh….yeah. Hey aren’t we staying pretty high up on the mountain?” I asked timidly.

“Oh yeah. We are.”

That night when I went to bed, I did my best to rapidly fall asleep. I succeeded but woke up again at some odd hour of the night. This time when I woke up, I glanced up to see my hair fanned up my pillow and caught of glimpse of long nails running through my hair. Then I saw long, greenish fingers picking up strands of my hair and braiding it rapidly. I was half-asleep but still terrified. What’s worse was that it felt like I couldn’t move. What made all the more terrified, was seeing something glowing red eyes hunching over my hair to put the braids on one side while it finished up. Just like the other night, I randomly passed out.

The next morning when I woke up, my grandparents were downstairs eating breakfast. My scalp throbbed and when I nervously ran my hand through my hair, I was relieved to see that it was just really tangled and messy. But then I froze when I felt a braid near the nape of my neck.

“Next time we’ll be even closer….” a chilling voice whispered behind me.

♠♠♠Back to 2nd Person♠♠♠

“Holy shit...What did you do?” Bruce asked.

“What any sane person would do. I ran out of that room and went crying like a little bitch to my grandparents,” you scoffed. “I don’t fuck with supernatural stuff.”

“That’s smart,” Natasha laughed.

“Eh I think mine’s was better,” Clint shrugged.

“Oh shut up,” you rolled your eyes.

“I think all of our stories were pretty good,” Steve said. “The bug one still makes my skin crawl though.”

“That was the idea, Cap,” Tony said before quickly finishing up the rest of his scotch.

“It looks like the storm has calmed down. You think the powers on?” Thor asked.

“JARVIS?” Tony called out.

No response.

“Guess not,” Thor muttered.

“Should we get more candles?” Bruce asked.

“I’ll look for some,” you offered.

You threw your feet over the couch only to stop when you felt a pool of liquid at your feet. You looked at the other Avengers wide-eyed, shakily reaching for the candle. You let out a sigh of relief when you saw it was just water. Natasha checked behind the couch and said that the bucket from earlier was barely filled.

“W-Wait what…?” you squeaked.

“I-It’s probably nothing guys,” Tony shook his head.

Your feet was still hovering slightly over the pool of water at your feet and when you lifted them up, a strange slimy, webbed green hand came out from the pool and grabbed your ankle.

“What the—?!” Bruce gasped.

You screamed while the hand pulled you down into the pool while Steve and Natasha screamed when they saw large spiders crawling up the couch. Natasha jumped to her feet and reached for her knife to stab them with it, but ended up creating holes in the couch from which more bugs crawled out from. Bruce was trying to calm down his racing heart when he felt a pain throughout his left arm and saw a little girl running around the couch. Thor was in too much shock to search for his hammer and Tony was hiding behind his seat while trying to figure out what to do since none of his suits were working. Clint had become frozen in fear when he saw a strange creature come out from the dark halls and walk towards him. It was like the creature from Steve's story but it looked much more twisted now that it was in front of his eyes. While you tried to claw your way out of the pool, the candle’s light flickered and glowed brighter. Out of all of the shadows that appeared on the wall, one stood out to you the most.

Just when the water was reaching your mouth, you gasped and shouted, “Loki, stop!”

The hand that was at your ankle released its grip on you, and the water pushed you upwards. You came back to the surface only to see that everything was gone. Even your clothes were dry.

“I was beginning to wonder when you’d all notice,” Loki chuckled. The trickster emerged from the shadows with his sinister smile on.

"You've got to be kidding me," Clint rolled his eyes.

“Loki,” Thor growled. “When did you arrive here? How did you manage to get past Heimdall?”

“I have my ways,” he grinned. “But really. You Midgardians and your “scary” stories. You always manage to let your imaginations get the best of you.”

“There is only one thing stopping me from killing you and that is Thor who will do it for me,” you threatened him.

Loki rolled his eyes and Tony came out of his hiding spot. Bruce looked exhausted and it was a miracle that he hadn’t Hulked out.

“That’s enough scary stories for me,” Steve said, shaking his head and getting up to head to his room.

“Yeaaah. Same here,” Bruce nodded.

“Natasha, I’m sleeping in your room since right now, I’m too scared to sleep in my own,” you muttered while quickly making your way over to her room.

"Yeah Nat, I call for a slumber party at your room," Clint shuddered. He walked over to her room, just a few steps behind you.

“Why not share my room?” Tony called with a smirk.

“Because you were pretty useless back there when we were getting scared shitless!” you yelled, slamming the door of Natasha’s room shut.

“Perhaps we should have a talk about this back at home, yes?” Thor asked. Thor grabbed Loki by the collar of his shirt and proceeded to drag him out of the room as well, Tony shuffling over to his room bitterly.

“Idiots,” Natasha said, rolling her eyes.

She blew out the candle.

And we have reached the conclusion~! I was running out of ideas for scary stories so here's a personal experience of mine. Everything that you read was true except for the voice part. The hair, the dog, that was true and to this day I don't know what the fuck happened. Look I don't care if you don't believe in ghosts, just know that I don't fuck with the supernatural and neither should you.
