“Before I do this, you must be absolutely sure that you want me to.”

“I am sure,” he said before licking his dry lips. “I want to do this now.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to think about it? You may not be ready for what you are about to see. I don’t want you to get hurt...”

He shook his head. “No...if I think too much about it then I’ll just end up backing away from my decision.”

You looked hard into his baby blue eyes. Perhaps with only a look he would back down from his decision. However that wasn’t the case. His hands reached out to touch yours, and as a natural reflex, you jumped back in your seat.

“Never try that again,” you warned him.

“I’m sorry (Name)….” Steve mumbled embarrassed. “I just really want to see her.”

“I know you do,” you whispered, the sharp tone in your voice from earlier softening. “But do realize that seeing someone who has been lost isn’t what you expect it to be like.”

“I’ll make sure to keep that in mind.”

“Very well then. Let’s begin.”

You took a deep breath and slid your chair closer to him. You had Steve place his hands on the table before him and told him to take deep breaths to relax his heart rate. You hadn’t touched him yet but you could already see her. She too was desperate to talk to him again. Her presence was overwhelming you. You feared that if you didn’t do something soon, then she would do something irrational.

You shut out all the voices in your head. You closed your eyes and concentrated on sharing your power with Steve. Then your hands hovered over his before being placed on top. The room suddenly became colder. You both got a chill down your spines which made you both gasp. You opened your eyes to see Steve who was looking at a woman behind you with shock in his eyes.

“Peggy…?”

Subconsciously he pulled away you, like he was going to get up to talk to her but your grip on him tightened to prevent him from doing so.

“Let her come to you,” you ordered. “Let go of me and you’ll no longer be able to see her. And I’m not going to risk you being stuck with her on this side.”

“What do you mean?” Steve asked confused.

His eyes had been taken off of his lost love, Peggy, to fall on your (e/c) ones perplexed.

“Look around you. The world is different. Can’t you see?”

Like awakening from a spell, Steve looked around to see that you were right. The world that you had let him see was darker. The sky was dark grey, the trees outside black like coal with branches that stretched out like a witch’s bony fingers. Through the window he could see people he didn’t see before. All of them wandered around outside confused, lost, unsure of where they were going. He looked back at Peggy who hadn’t said a word so far. She merely smiled, her eyes welling up with tears.

“You’re right,” he nodded. “How come she isn’t saying anything?”

You looked back and shrugged. “She’s probably in shock. Peggy darling are you just going to stay glued to your feet like that or are you actually going to talk to the boy?”

A few footsteps could be heard and then Peggy was standing by you and Steve. She looked just the way she had when he first met her. She had the same curly auburn hair with her bangs that were held back with a pin. Her lips were painted an apple red color and her hazel eyes were glossed with sadness as she looked at Steve.

“How long has it been Steve?” she asked softly.

“About three months…” he answered grimly.

“Since I’ve died?”

“Y-Yeah…”

You merely watched the two converse. Moments like this were always awkward for you. You knew that in a time like this they deserved privacy but there was nothing you could do but sit back and watch.

Steve shifted in his seat, his eyes being cast down to the ground before meeting hers again. He couldn’t believe that you actually managed to do this. But how could you not? It was your power. It was a gift that brought loved ones together again and a curse that haunted you.  When you had told Steve about your powers, you knew just by looking into his eyes that he wanted to talk to Peggy who had died recently. You had denied his request at first but then she showed up. You had been at home painting your nails black when Peggy materialized in the chair in front of you out of nowhere. If you weren’t experienced in your powers, you would have had a fit. However, you were used to the dead popping up at odd hours in the day. She had come to you asking to let her talk to Steve.

And now here you were.

“Hello (Name),” Peggy said when she saw you. “Thank you for doing this. I greatly appreciate it.”

“It’s no problem,” you smiled softly. “Feel free to say whatever you want. I’m just here so that he can see you.”

She smiled once more and took a seat between you and Steve. She stared at her hands on her lap for a while, thinking about what to say. You looked over at the clock hanging above the doorway. Five minutes in total had passed. You could only keep on doing this for about forty-five minutes. Afterwards, things could become dangerous and you’d have more than dead people wanting to talk to you.

“For starters, I want to say thank you for visiting me all those times in the hospital,” she began. “I know it didn’t seem like it, but I truly appreciated it. I tried my hardest to remember you when I forgot, but my condition was getting worse.”

“I know that, Peggy,” Steve sighed. He turned his hands, palm up so that he could intertwine his fingers through yours. “The doctors told me and I wished I could have helped—”

“I’m not done speaking,” she cut him off. There was a sly smirk on her lips. It looked like Steve was right when he told you that Peggy could be a little sassy sometimes. “Please know that now I’m alright. I remember everything. I remember you visiting me but most importantly, I remember meeting you for the first time.”

The room fell silent.

You were now holding your breath. This was a very sensitive moment. Even Steve looked like he was at a loss for words. You looked down at his hands to see that they were slightly shaking. You gave his hands a comforting squeeze. Peggy cleared her throat before speaking again.

“You looked so different then. I was shocked when I saw you after the super soldier serum had been infused in your body. But thankfully, it was just your body that had changed—not your mentality.”

She laughed softly to herself, her eyelashes resting against her cheeks when she closed her eyes momentarily.

“Before time runs out,” she said. “I just want to thank you for everything, Steve.”

“It’s really no big deal, Peggy,” he smiled weakly. “I’m just happy that I was able to see you again.”

You looked back to the clock. Now twenty had passed. There wasn’t much time left and for once, you wished this didn’t have to end. Peggy and Steve had had a beautiful relationship when they were both alive. There was so much they needed to say to each other and you knew that. If only time didn’t play a big factor in the situation.

“I wanted to say sorry for not making it back after the plane crashed. I wished things had worked out but…”

You felt a small pang of jealousy. Of course Steve would always love Peggy. You realized that if the plane hadn’t crashed and he didn’t get frozen, then he would be with her right now and you wouldn’t be having this conversation. If he had never gotten frozen, that also meant that you wouldn’t have met him and fallen in love with him.

You sighed, closing your eyes and just trying to think of something else. Anything to distract you from the troublesome thoughts that entered your mind.

“You saved hundreds of lives that day,” Peggy said sternly. “You saved mine. And you continue saving people today. There is nothing left to regret, Steve. All that there is, is to start a new life with people who care for you dearly. Never forget that.”

Steve brushed his thumbs over the back of your hands, causing you to look up at him. He was smiling at you and so was Peggy.

Peggy got up from her seat. “We should do this again sometime. If that’s alright with you, (Name)?”

“It’s not a problem,” you grinned. “Though we should probably wait until next month. Seeing a person who is no longer living too frequently….can get to people sometimes.”

“Understable,” she nodded. She sauntered her way over to see and leaned over to place a quick kiss on his cheek. “Until next time, soldier.”

♣♣♣Extended Ending♣♣♣

Even after Peggy had left, Steve was still blushing like a school boy who had just received his first kiss. It was cute. When you left the old abandoned house in the woods, you began to tease him about it on the way back to his car.

“Are your cheeks red from the cold or from the kiss?” you smiled cheekily.

“(Name),” he groaned. “I-It’s from the cold…”

You looped your arm through his. “Whatever you say.”

He stopped walking, and touched his cheek with his hand.

“How...how could I feel that anyways?” he asked perplexed.

“You just could. Some things can’t be explained, Steve.”

He nodded and kept walking with you all the way back to the car. He opened the car door for you and shut it after you climbed in. He jogged to his side and was soon sitting next to you. He started up the car and let it warm up for a few minutes.

“Thank you, (Name),” he said. “I know that you didn’t have to do that and that you didn’t want to that much either, so thank you very much for letting me talk to her again.”

You leaned over and placed a small kiss on his lips.

“It was my pleasure, Steve.”

“I still wish you could have told me about your powers sooner. You could have told me at least around the time we moved in together,” he smirked.

You leaned back in your chair. “Yeah I know...I’ve just never been able to be so open about this sort of thing.”

“I get it. So what happens now? We see her in about a month or two?”

“If you want,” you shrugged. “But I actually have something else to do.”

“And what’s that?” he asked curiously.

“Let’s just say that a certain someone wants to talk to his dead parents…”
Here, have some Steve stuff XD

I've haven't written much with Peggy so sometimes I have trouble with her personality, so I apologize if she is out of character.

Anyways, the reader in here can talk to the dead and see them. Whenever she touches someone, she allows the person to see/hear the dead too. But she's in control of her powers so she can touch someone regularly and they won't see anything. However, when caught off guard, it could be dangerous. When in the "other world", if she stays there too long, her and the person she brought with her could stay there because reckless demons or ghosts could make them trapped there.

As for the last sentence, depending on the comments I get for this, I will write a similar story like this except...*drumroll* for Tony~!

So yeah hope you guys enjoyed and all that jazz XD
