Violin music along with the gentle sound of a piano’s melody was heard over the video of the girl that was on the large, plasma screen before them. The Winter Soldier looked at the child with a quizzical expression on his face. His eyes squinted down on your closed ones, that hid the blank (e/c) eyes that he had seen once before they dragged you in here.

“What’s with the music?” Alexander asked baffled as he strolled into the room.

“She asked for classical music to played, sir,” one of the agents responded. “It apparently calms her.”

“Well that makes sense. We do want her calm,” he said.

You were supposedly an experiment gone wrong. Created by mad Russian scientists, you eventually rose up against them and went rogue. Judging by the many scars and needle marks along your arms, the Winter Soldier could see that they had tried their best to keep you under control. That didn’t stop you however.

The powers they had given you grew with each passing day. Suddenly, one day something in your brain had snapped. The people back at Hydra had no idea what was wrong with you but all they knew was that you had tremendous powers.

“Soldier,” Alexander said as he stepped next to him. “What do you think?”

“How old is she?” he gruffly said.

“About ten, I think.”

“Then it should be easy for you to hack into her mind,” he muttered as he stepped away from the screen.

“You think so?” he said with obvious pride in his voice.

The Winter Soldier merely nodded, not wanting to look back at the screen. His mind was indifferent. It didn’t matter if you were just a child. You were an experiment just like him. Both suffering from something you didn’t choose. But perhaps your story was different. It wasn’t his concern anyways.

“Well would you look at that,” Alexander grinned. “Little girl has finally opened her eyes.”

The Winter Soldier turned to see that you had, in fact, opened your eyes and you now looked around the room puzzled. You were sitting in a simple white room, on a black folding chair. You looked around the room some more, as if you were trying to figure out where you were. Then in a flash, your eyes snapped on the camera, giving it a deadly glare.

“Creepy,” shuddered Alexander.

“Yeah,” he muttered.

Your eyes hardened on the screen, causing cracks to form on the outer edges of the camera to make it go in and out of focus. You lifted your hand up, palm out, and squeezed it into a fist. The camera went black from being destroyed.

“That doesn’t look too good,” another agent in the room said worriedly.

“Winter Soldier, go see what’s happening,” Alexander ordered him.

He nodded once, already grabbing his gun and heading out the door. His heavy boots thudded against the ground, echoing throughout the halls. In the distance he could hear what sounded like chairs and tables being flown against the wall as well as the muffled and high pitched screams of agents. The lights overhead flickered as everything suddenly went deadly silent.

He looked around, gripping his gun tight as he swiftly turned the corner. All he saw, was you. You cocked your head to the side, eyes blank, and then an innocent smile graced your features as the lights overhead flickered, creating a ghastly shadow across your face. He raised an eyebrow at you. No one moved. Everything was still, everything was silent.

Behind you, he could see the havoc you had caused. Blood splatters coated the walls, the bodies of agents hanged lifelessly from the ceiling, and body parts were thrown messily across the hall. And still, you smiled at him.

“You can’t stop me,” you said. “You won’t. You need to break free yourself.”

The grip on his gun loosened.

You took a step forward and he raised his gun at you, but you still didn’t stop walking.

“Just try and shoot me, it won’t work.”

He wasted no time. He fired two, three, four, perhaps even fives bullets. All you did was raise your hand and smack each bullet away like nothing.

“I don’t want to hurt you,” you said earnestly.

The expression on your face changed. You looked at him with softened (e/c) eyes, your hands shaking slightly. It was in that moment, that the Winter Soldier truly saw you for the child that you were. You were scared but just earlier, he had seen a different side of you. What had those Russian scientists done to you? He wasn’t sure he wanted to know.

“Please, just let me leave,” you said. “I’m tired of being controlled. I can’t stand being the guinea pig to someone elses experiment. I don’t want to hurt anymore people.”

He raised an eyebrow at you and used his gun to gesture to the dead bodies behind you.

“I didn’t mean to do that,” you whispered, eyes looking down to the ground. “They tried to hurt me.”

“You still shouldn’t have done that.”

“I know…”

“Winter Soldier!” rang Alexander’s voice. “Terminate her now!”

The Winter Soldier looked back at the fuming red face of Alexander Pierce. He looked back to you, and saw the horrified expression on your face. You shook your head, begging him not to do so. He raised the gun but he still hesitated to shoot.

“You will shoot her now, Soldier!” Pierce demanded. “That is an ORDER.”

He didn’t know why he hesitated so much. The gun even shook slightly in his hands. And then, you tried to run past him. You used your powers to fling both him and Alexander against the wall.

“Get her!” barked Alexander.

He wasted no time and ran after you. Within seconds he had already caught up and then you tripped on your own two feet. You fell back and turned around to face him, blinking your eyes rapidly as you tried to keep your tears at bay. Alexander soon appeared at his side, out of breath, but he still had enough air in his lungs to curse.

“Damn brat,” he spat.

The Winter Soldier heard what sounded like a gun cocking and being placed on the back of his head. That made him freeze.

“Now you will shoot her, that is an order. Do it NOW.”

He raised his gun, pressing the tip of it against your forehead. You closed your eyes, accepting your fate.

“Just know that I forgive you for this,” you whispered.

And he pulled the trigger indifferently, because a brainwashed soldier like himself wasn’t allowed to feel. Alexander removed his gun from its place. He stood beside the Winter Soldier, patting his back.

“Good. Now we have that little nuisance out of our hair.”

He walked past your lifeless body, his only thought being,

       Death does not discriminate.
I had no clue how to end this but basically, this is why I don't do child inserts.

I changed the last line and what I mean by it is, no matter if you are rich, poor, healthy, unhealthy, a child, an old man or even the nicest person on the planet, death will still take you.
