There was a rapid knock on the door, making you groan as you took another bite of your cheesecake slice. Tony had set his small, robotic toy that he was currently making aside, glasses on the brim of his nose. He gave you a look.

“You’re not gonna get that, are you?”

“I got it last time,” you shrugged.

“No, I did,” he sighed, getting up. “And the last time...and the last time. I pretty much always answer the door.”

“Love you~” you grinned, blowing him a kiss.

He rolled his eyes and opened the door, the frown on his face disappearing and being replaced with a huge smile. Today yours and his daughter decided to visit you both. She stood there, wearing her favorite purple jumper with black converse with a smile that was very similar to Tony’s.

“Dad!”

“Zelda!” Tony grinned, throwing his arms around her in a tight hug.

“Is that Zelda?” you asked, leaning against the kitchen door frame.

You bit down on the lollipop you had been eating in shock when you saw that you were right. Your daughter then ran to you, the two of you giving each other massive hugs. Ever since Zelda had went to college, she couldn’t visit as often as she’d like. Whenever she had a chance to see you, she took it.

“Holy shit, your hair!” you gasped, lifting up strands of it.

Your daughter used to have your (h/c) hair that she kept trimmed up to her chin but now it looked like she had grew it out and dyed it pastel pink. The new hairdo certainly suited her well. Ever since she was little, Zelda loved trying out new things.

“Do you like it?” she asked nervously, biting on her lower lip.

“I think it looks badass,” Tony shrugged.

“Same,” you laughed. “Well come on in.”

The three of you moved to sit in the kitchen, the ding of toast popping out of the toaster being heard. You hurried over to grab the toast and began to make yourself a sandwich while Zelda sat down with Tony at the kitchen table to talk about her day.

“College is great really,” she smiled. “I’ve met lots of new people and made lots of new friends. I still miss you guys though.”

“We miss ya too, kiddo,” Tony grinned, going back to tinkering with his little invention.

Zelda pushed back a lock of cherry blossom pink hair behind her ear, the star earring she wore twinkling with the light. “To be honest,” she said. “One of the reasons I came here was to ask you guys about my childhood. In one my social classes I’m asked to write about how my childhood could have affected how I turned out in life. It’d be great if you guys could tell me what things were like when I was a kid since you were superheroes and all.”

Tony almost choked on the coffee he had been drinking. He flashed you a glare, his shoulders heaving down in a sigh as he began to rub his temples.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but despite what everyone thinks, your mother was the destructive one. Not me.”

“What do you mean?” Zelda asked curiously.

“Welp,” you said, sitting up on the kitchen counter, taking a bite out of your sandwich. “I guess it’s better that we start from the beginning….”

The yellow cab moved fast throughout the crowded streets of India, beeping at those who had innocently crossed paths with it. Clint was at the wheel, driving through small marts while Natasha had her head out the window, yelling at people to get out of the way. You sat in the backseat, a hand over your stomach and the other gripping the front seat in front of you tight.

“We told you to not go to a mission in India when you were close to giving birth!” Natasha chided you for perhaps the billionth time.

“Well I thought it’d be a good idea since no one would think that a pregnant woman was trying to kill them!” you barked, the contractions starting again.

“I thought that all the time when you were pregnant actually,” Clint muttered.

You reached forward to slap him upside head. Clint slammed his foot on the gas pedal, and Natasha moved her arm over your chest to keep you from practically flying out of your seat. While on your little mission in India with Clint and Natasha, your water had broke. Natasha being rational, called a cab driver, threw him out of the car, and made Clint drive while she tended to you. While in the cab, she had called Tony and now the billionaire was getting here as fast as he could. He had sounded very panicky over the phone and now Clint and Natasha had a bet going on: would he arrive in the Iron Man suit or in his private jet? That and: will he faint at the sight of the baby or just faint in general?

While driving through another mini market, Clint stuck his hand out the window, caught an apple and passed it to you.

“Oh my favorite,” you beamed, taking a bite of the juicy apple.

“How are the contractions?” Natasha asked concerned.

She had been the one who was timing them to make sure that was alright.

“Oh they’re not—holy fuck!”

You bit your lower lip as you felt more pain in your lower region. You knew that having a baby was tough but you really weren’t expecting the type of pain you were experiencing now. Sweat rolled down your temple, your body was starting to shake, and you could barely muster the strength to let out small cries. Natasha could tell that you couldn’t take it anymore so she urged Clint to use any back alleys as shortcuts and to drive as fast possible.

After that crazy cab ride, you had finally arrived at the hospital. Clint scooped you up in his arms and carried you inside, running to the nearest emergency room while Natasha did her best to explain to the situation to the nurse at the front desk.

“Clint we need to find a doctor!” you wailed.

“I know!” he said, kicking down the doors to the emergency room. “The woman needs a doctor!” he yelled to the people in the room. “She’s about to go into labor!”

“....Kyā?”

The Indian doctor looked at both you and Clint confused out of his mind.

“I don’t think he speaks English,” you whispered.

“Yeah I figured that.”

Zelda’s jaw dropped. “You told me that I was born in New York!”

“Yeah we lied,” you shrugged, licking off the ice cream from your spoon.

“Why? I had the right to know that I almost died in that car ride because you, mom, were being reckless!” she huffed.

“See that’s why we didn’t tell you,” Tony explained. “We knew you would freak out. Besides, you didn’t almost die. You lived.”

“Yeah I figured that out,” she grumbled. Zelda blew her bangs away from her face. As much as she hated to, she had to ask, “Alright what about after I was born?”

You and Tony both exchanged a look with one another.

♠♠♠When Zelda Was 1♠♠♠

Running down hallways or away from danger had been something you were used to doing. Being apart of the Avengers, you were expected to fight and defend others and yourself with your life. But there were some moments when you had to yell, “nope!” and run away from the enemy.

Currently, that was what you were doing with Steve and Tony. In your arms was little Zelda, holding her bottle with her small hands. Tony had arrived on the mission later than you and Steve and when he saw that you had brought Zelda with you, he lost it.

“How could you bring the baby with you?!” he scolded.

“I didn’t have any money for the babysitter!” you protested.

“....(Name). We’re rich, remember?!”

“.....Oh yeah.”

Steve had been using the device Natasha had given him for this mission that showed him a virtual map of the building you had all broken into. He had been hearing you bicker with Tony for almost twenty minutes now and it was starting to drive him mad. When he discovered a vent that would provide a quick escape, he thanked God. Now this would all be over soon. He guided the two of you towards the vent, Tony dropping in first, you second, and Steve third.

While climbing up the small vent, you felt it become smaller. You were mostly concerned about small Zelda who had begun to cry a little. But after setting her down, she started giggling and crawling through the vents happily. Tony punched down the vent’s gates and climbed out, taking baby Zelda into his arms. He grabbed your hand to help you out but you had somehow gotten stuck.

“I’m stuck!” you wailed. “Steve, I’m so sorry!”

“What do you mean you’re stuck!” the super soldier gasped below you. “You can’t just be stuck! We need to get out of here fast!”

Tony set Zelda aside, grabbing both of your hands to try and pull you up. After a few attempts, there hadn’t been much progress at all.

“Steve, I give you permission to put your hands on my ass to push me out,” you groaned, annoyed at how long this was taking.

Baby Zelda of course, was giggling on the floor as she watched mommy struggle.

“W-What?” Steve stammered. “(Name), I don’t think I can—”

“Soldier, even I give you permission to do this!” Tony said. “Just hurry up because I think I hear someone coming.”

With a groan, Steve put his hand on your backside to help push you up. With Steve pushing and Tony pulling, you had managed to get out just in the nick of time. You scooped Zelda into your arms, and tweaked your outfit a bit so that her back could be to your chest and she had a belt-like strap over her chest.

“I swear puberty hit my backside so hard it forgot about my chest. But in cases like this, I’m glad,” you said, glancing down at your chest.

“Alright let’s just go before someone tries to kidnap our child again,” Tony said, grabbing your hand to start running with you again.

♠♠♠♠♠♠

“Again?!” Zelda gasped. “What do you mean, ‘again?’ I’ve actually been kidnapped when I was a child?”

“Of course you have,” Tony scoffed. “You’re the daughter of two famous and brilliant superhero’s. The villains don’t just take a look at you and decide to back off.”

“Well yeah, but….” she trailed off, shaking her head. “You guys are right. I didn’t know that so much happened when I was a kid. For me it felt like it started happening when I was a teen.”

“Oh yeah right,” you laughed from your seat, drinking some herbal tea. “Even when I was pregnant with you people were trying to kill you! Isn’t that lovely?”

“So lovely,” Tony snickered. He saw that Zelda was now frowning, clear disapproval of her parents on her face. “Don’t worry, sweetie. It’s not like we ever let the bad guys get you. We always did our best to protect you. We even locked you up in SHIELD that one time.”

“WHAT.”

“Sweetheart, we love you very much,” you said.

“Oh…..my….God!” she gasped. “So those weren’t weird dreams I had? Those were actual memories?! This explains so much now! Wait….but then that means that the dreams I had were the Frost Giants kidnapped me were—”

“Dreams,” Tony cut her off. “Just dreams.”

You stuffed your face with a sugar cookie, not wanting to explore Zelda’s childhood that much anymore because of things like this. Your child had a free spirit like you and Tony but had gotten her worry wort side from your mother.

Zelda opened her mouth, ready to argue and further question the two of you but quickly shut it. She wasn’t sure she wanted to find out about all the dangerous she encountered as a child in a Saturday afternoon. She shook her head and checked the time on her cellphone.

“Sorry, mom and dad, I have to back the university now. I need to study for an upcoming exam.”

“We understand, kid,” Tony said. “Just remember that if any of your professors give you any trouble just remind him that you’re a Stark and it’s my money that’s helping him live in this cruel world.”

Zelda rolled her eyes. “Yeah, will do, dad,” she laughed. She got up from her seat, leaning down to give you a quick kiss on the cheek before grabbing her bag. “I’ll see you guys soon!”

“Alright in the meantime we’ll try to remember more of what happened when you were a kid,” you grinned, leaning against the kitchen’s closet while Tony opened the door for her.

“Oh gosh,” she laughed. “I’m gonna have to mentally prepare myself to relive that. I’m just glad you guys retired from your job already.”

“Heh, yeah,” Tony grinned.

You bid your goodbye’s once again, closing the door on Zelda; now wondering if she really could handle being told the things you hadn’t told her before.

♠♠♠Extended Ending♠♠♠

“She thinks we actually retired!” Tony snickered, holding his side from laughing too hard.

“I know, I know!” you smirked, stepping aside.

The closet door was forced open by a large, tied up man that fell onto your kitchen floor, bruises along his face. He had been knocked out with a sucker punch thanks to Tony and was still unconscious. You grabbed him by the wrists and started dragging him to the back of your house where a black SHIELD SUV was waiting.

“Get the legs will ya?” you said. “This dude is really heavy.”

Tony helped you carry him across the living, reminding you that, “We still need to carry out the other two bodies.”

Yeah I named your daughter Zelda cause if I gave her a regular name someone will be like, "omg no that's my name. this is like so awks. I couldn't even finish reading it."

So to avoid that, I did this. This one was kinda random but eh. Hope you enjoyed anyways XD
